MASTERS SWIM PROGRAM

The Laurier pool will be closed from May 24-July 1st inclusive to allow for changeroom and pool maintenance to occur. We appreciate your understanding as we work to improve our facilities!


The Masters Swim & Triathlon Program is for adult swimmers with varying levels of swimming ability with the intent (for any or all of the reasons): to swim for fitness, for competition; enhance the triathlon programming, and mainly for the FUN of it! The program swims out of the 50m 6 lane facility of Wilfrid Laurier University (corner of King and University Waterloo).

Please Note: All masters swimmers must be a Laurier student or a member. Swimmers must be able to successfully complete 200m using a recognizable swim stroke to be eligible for the program. 

Memberships need to be purchased at the Hawk Desk. Please ask for the "Masters Alumni Rate" of $29.59 + tax per month. For anyone wanting to register with the Master's swimming program, a Facility Membership is required to participate. 

Each day will be limited to 25 spaces, up to 5 per lane. You must only attend practice on the day(s) you're registered for. If you have to miss your registered day you will not be permitted to attend another day instead.

Mondays - May 6-13, 2024 - 2 weeks
Tuesdays - May 7-21, 2024 - 3 weeks
Thursdays - May 9-23, 2024 - 3 weeks
Saturdays - May 11-18, 2024 - 2 weeks
Sundays -  May 12-19, 2024 - 2 weeks

Monday 8:00-9:30 PM - Deep end 
Tuesday 8:00-9:30PM - Shallow end
Thursday 6:00-7:30 AM - Shallow end 
Saturday 10:30-12 PM - Shallow end
Sunday 8:00-9:30 AM - Shallow end

ADULT SWIM LESSONS

Winter 2024

Adult swim lessons are offered for those 18 years of age or older who are looking for everything from learning to swim to improving their stroke. Lessons are can be customized to the participants needs. All lessons are 1 hour. 

Lessons are offered in packages of 5 or 10 lessons. Times are on a first come, first serve basis. 

Please note, that you must be a Laurier Student or member to particiapte.

STANDARD FIRST AID AND CPR

Standard First Aid incorporates all Emergency First Aid, designed for those who require an in-depth understanding of first aid. CPR "C" covers all aspects of CPR skills for adults, children and infants. This course is recognized by the WSIB and satisfies requirements in the Ontario Public Pools regulation. No pre-requisite is required and a manual will be provided. 

Course Fee: $110 (Does not include manual)
Manual Fee $20.00 must be purchased for course or bring along a copy of your own 2020 updated manual. All participants must have a manual for personal use. Sharing is not permitted. 

Course Dates can be selected when purchasing the item.

Course Time: All courses are run from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm in person at the Athletic Complex.

This is a recertification. Please bring your original Lifesaving society card to the course.

NLS RECERT

The recertification exam is an opportunity to demonstrate NL Skills and to recertify the National Lifeguard certification.

Please Bring:

  • a copy of your old certification to the exam or your LSS ID
  • a whistle 

All recertifications will be held in the Laurier Pool. Please meet on deck ready to swim.

Prerequisite: NL Pool – Proof of prerequisites are required. Use Find a Member to check and print off your qualifications. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the proper prerequisites.
