2022 Summer Camps - Leader-In-Training Camp Session 6 (Aug 8-12, 2022)

The Leader-In-Training program offers individuals aged 13-16 years a unique experience, as they will develop their leadership and teamwork skills through fun, interactive activities. The LIT program is meant to introduce the fundamentals of leadership in the hopes that they may apply these skills to their everyday life and future aspirations.

This year we will be running 8 weeks of the LIT program in 1-week sessions.

WE ARE A NUT FREE CAMP! Camp days are full and busy! Please send a healthy, nut free lunch and snacks to keep them going.
 
CAMP FEATURES:

Under the guidance of specialized session leaders, including a Camp Supervisor, LIT’s will get the opportunity to experience a number of excellent workshops.

Program highlights include:
- Sessions on: leadership, communication, and teamwork
- Basic First-aid
- Sport skill technique breakdown and sport lesson plan development
- Weekly fun-filled leadership activities

Age of Camp Participants/Grouping: Golden Hawk Leaders in Training program is designed for participants 13-16 years of age. Each group will consist of 10 participants to one instructor.

Staff: Enthusiastic Laurier students, certified in First aid and CPR, with police check for vulnerable sector.

Facilities: Leader in Training programs will take place at Laurier’s University Stadium in the heart of Waterloo. Swimming at the Laurier Swimming pool may be included based on Public Health recommendations and provincial guidelines.

Please note that all children over the age of 12 must be fully vaccination against covid -19 as per government requirements.

PROGRAM - July & August 2022 – 1 week sessions
Week 1:  July 4 - 8
Week 2:  July 11 - 15
Week 3:  July 18 - 22
Week 4:  July 25 - 29
Week 5:  August 2-5 ** short week due to Civic holiday Monday
Week 6:  August 8 -12
Week 7:  August 15-19
Week 8:  August  22-26
 
NOTE: 2022 Leader in Training camp is a one week program.


Camp hours of operation are from:
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Drop off is at University Stadium, located at 81 Seagram Drive. Regular camp hours run from 9:00am-4:00pm.  In an effort to space out our check in and pick up, drop off will begin as early as 8:30am and pick up will be available until 4:30pm at no additional cost.

Weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, & 8 cost $240.00 per camper
Week 5 cost $218.00 per child**

Liability Waiver to be read and agreed to during registration:
I give my permission for my son/daughter to participate in the Golden Hawk Multi-Sport Camp. We will not hold liable the camp directors, counselors, staff, Wilfrid Laurier University or their staff for any personal theft, illness, or injury sustained while attending
As per the Personal Health Information Protection Act, filling out an OHIP number on a camp application form is voluntary. Should a parent or guardian choose not to supply this information, they should be reachable in the event of an emergency.
